I realize you've already seen 23498234 posts like this one, but I wanted to write it anyway. I use and love all of these apps so much. I'm happy to answer any questions about them - this is not a sponsored or paid post. I just really really like these apps and felt the need to share. (The links below are iTunes affiliate links.)
Total Baby - This app was a life saver especially during the first few months. It helped me track Dax's feedings, poops, pees, baths and doctor visits at a time when I was so tired I could barely remember my own name. Be careful though, I did find myself obsessing over whether he was eating and sleeping enough and why he wasn't on an exact schedule. I'm not saying don't be careful, but don't let it get in the way of those precious moments with your baby. Feedings (once we both got the hang of it) were the only peaceful moments we had together in the beginning. I also used this app to track milestones, like sitting up and his first snow day, until I found......
Life Cake - I love this app! Sometimes I forget the milestones I should be documenting. Life Cake gives you suggestions based on your baby's age. I have not even started a baby book - everything is in this app. It is lovely - and the timeline makes it easy to compare Dax at different ages. You can also invite family and friends to the app; they're able to view the timeline and even buy prints. No more printing photos and mailing them to grandma!
Wave Sounds - I prefer this to the white noise apps out there. It gives you the option of listening to different tides from around the world. Since Dax sleeps in our room, it's preferable to white noise. I fall asleep pretending I'm going to bed in the Bahamas with my balcony door open... ahhhhhh....
Moms Pump Here - I don't mind breastfeeding in public, but I prefer more privacy than most. This app helped ease some of my nursing discomfort by letting me know if a venue nearby is nursing friendly. I was so surprised to find so many of the fun places in Dallas are nursing friendly! It's awesome! Dax and I have adventured all over the city without fear of being stuck in a dirty bathroom stall trying to feed the baby. Disclaimer: this app may not work as well if you live in a rural area. However, the more people that use it, the better the app gets.
Home Routine - I used this app long before Dax came along, but it has been even more useful since his birth. It prevents me from losing total control over the household chores. I like that it breaks down the deep cleaning by zone. This feature keeps me from going on a cleaning tangent (like randomly cleaning the oven because I notice the door is dirty) because I know I'll be doing that deep cleaning in the coming weeks. Time saver, anxiety easer, love it.
Ibotta - I swear this is not just a shameless plug to get your referral fee - although here is the link if you want to help a girl out! I use this app as I'm meal planning, and I've gotten $46 back this year alone! It is the best of the rebate apps by a long shot. It isn't limited to groceries, and the bonuses give you huge rebate potential. Plus, it's money the hubby doesn't know I have! Can we say new shoes...?!
What are your favorite apps? I'm an app addict, I'd love to try them out.
